Part I: Leaving Dakar

heading out of Dakar and chilling, Senegalese style
car rapide heading toward Rufisque

we drove toward Lac Rose, luckily not on the outside of a car rapide

where we paused long enough to take in the fabled source of Lac Rose

then we drove north and passed this tucked away mosque in the middle of nowhere

until we embarked on this path into the dunes....

The Senegalese paparazzi made an appearance

My favorite graffiti in Dakar thus far

 Les Alamedies neighborhood - Dakar

To give perspective of just how large the African Renaissance Monument is,
try and find the woman waving

There is a flag for each African country in front of the monument

Les Liqueurs de Warang

Tasting at Les Liqueurs de Warang gardens near Mbour, Senegal

My favorite: Kombonella (Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit liquor).
It tasted like Key Lime Pie to me but Lemoncello to everyone else

 L.d.W.  distillery

 outside the distillery
Liquor tastings in citrus, bissap, passion fruit, chocolate coffee banana...

delightful
